1 Meet Your Sony Alpha a6700

The Sony a6700 can be incredibly easy to use, right out of the box, especially if you already have some experience with digital photography. As ridiculous as it may seem, this advanced camera can be used in point-and-shoot mode simply by rotating the large mode dial on the top-right panel to select the Program (P) label or green Intelligent Auto icon. (See Figure 1.1.) If you’ve charged the battery, mounted a lens, and inserted a formatted memory card into the camera, flip the power switch to On. (It’s concentric with the shutter-release button on top of the camera.) I’ll provide tips on performing these tasks later in this chapter if you need help.
