The autofocus system found in the Sony a6700 is one of its most innovative features. The camera has the ability to lock in on subjects (what Sony now calls recognition targets), including people and animals (birds, dogs, and cats—using Subject Recognition), and track motion. Compared to the a6700’s predecessor model, this camera can seamlessly switch between eye, face, and body tracking, and use these modes when shooting video, as well. And if your subject isn’t a person or suitable animal, the camera can deploy pattern detection and use both subject color and brightness to find and lock focus.
