In this chapter, we have introduced some of the features and operations of PyTorch. We gave an overview of the installation platforms and procedures. You have hopefully gained some knowledge of tensor operations and how to perform them in PyTorch. You should be clear about the distinction between in place and by assignment operations and should also now understand the fundamentals of indexing and slicing tensors. In the second half of this chapter, we looked at loading data into PyTorch. We discussed the importance of data and how to create a dataset object to represent custom datasets.
