Chapter 9. Summary
In this chapter, we explore the future of IP Multicast and what a company’s or person’s needs would be. Also discussed are enhancements that could be in P2MP Aggregation.
We started this book with the building blocks of IP Multicast and eventually moved on to understanding real-world applications that use multicast as a foundation for creating revenue-generating products with those applications. We visited the need for multicast VPNs and the Draft-Rosen model, before we moved on to the NG-MVPNs and spoke about another draft known as in-band signaling.
