So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
This chapter introduced Configuration Management from the SCCM perspective, which is one of the important DevOps practices. It discussed various aspects of Version Control System including the types of version control and capabilities provided by VSTS for both Centralized and Distributed Version Control System. Git is the focus of this book from the Version Control System point of view. Differences between Git and TFVC were discussed. We also gave a short introduction to Git, followed by adding our sample application OnlinePharmacy to the VSTS Git repository.
