The concept of painting digitally is a strange one to most people. Using the mouse to paint is like drawing with a bar of soap in some ways. Digital tablets and styli seem to be more natural implements to use with digital art tools. They offer the wonderful ability to experience the impact of touch and the strength of a stroke. Their pressure sensitivity allows for a powerful laydown of color or a thin, wispy veil of color. This alone recommends them. If you do not have a tablet and stylus, however, don’t despair.
