I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The concept of painting digitally is a strange one to most people. Using the mouse to paint is like drawing with a bar of soap in some ways. Digital tablets and styli seem to be more natural implements to use with digital art tools. They offer the wonderful ability to experience the impact of touch and the strength of a stroke. Their pressure sensitivity allows for a powerful laydown of color or a thin, wispy veil of color. This alone recommends them. If you do not have a tablet and stylus, however, don’t despair. All of the following techniques can be performed with a traditional mouse.
