Este livro é uma colaboração entre mim (Carlo Parisi, também conhecido como Blackie), Alessandro Mazza e Niccolò Pozzolini. A primeira edição, que, obviamente, influenciou muito nosso trabalho, foi escrita entre 2016 e 2019 por Andreas M. Antonopoulos e Dr. Gavin Wood.
Em novembro de 2023, uma série de coincidências muito afortunadas reuniu Andreas e eu em Glasgow. Lá, depois de algumas cervejas e alguns autógrafos, perguntei a ele se tinha alguma intenção de escrever uma segunda edição do Mastering Ethereum. Isso porque, embora a primeira edição seja uma obra-prima, ela não envelheceu bem; foi publicada em 2019, quando a Ethereum ainda usava prova de trabalho e tinha um roteiro muito diferente.
A resposta de Andreas foi que ele não estava planejando escrever uma segunda edição, mas nossa conversa acabou por Spark a ideia que me levou a assumir este projeto. Menos de um dia após nosso encontro em Glasgow, eu estava conversando com a O'Reilly sobre a possibilidade de escrever uma segunda edição.
Percebi imediatamente que essa seria uma tarefa grande e importante. Embora estivesse honrado com a oportunidade, também tinha medo de não conseguir fazer um trabalho suficientemente bom.
