A server is a software platform that provides the services and infrastructure required to develop, deploy, and run Web applications. WTP provides the tools to build these applications, and servers provide the runtime environment to execute them. This chapter describes how to add new server extensions to WTP. Once added, the new server extension will be listed in the New Server Runtime wizard and other dialogs, and it can be used like all the other servers to develop, deploy, test, and run Web applications.
