Faraday’s Law
FARADAY’S LAW (non-technical) Two common expressions of Faraday’s Law are:
A changing magnetic field can induce a current in a circuit,
and
A change in magnetic flux induces an EMF.
Faraday’s Law is often called The Law of Induction.
Before we can apply Faraday’s Law, we need to know the sense in which the EMF is
induced, or, equivalently, the sense in which the induced current flows. This important
piece of information is provided to us by Lenz’s Law.
LENZ’S LAW Faraday’s induced current is oriented so as to oppose the change that
brought it about.
