Installing the Embedded Linux Workshop is generally quite painless. There are basically two different methods: CVS and FTP. Using the CVS method, you can download the most cutting-edge version of the software. This can be a little dangerous; you may end up breaking your development environment if another developer uploads some broken code. Therefore, most people like the alternative method: Download an FTP archive of a known good version of the code. That’s the method described in the following steps.
