About the Authors
Oguz A. Soysal received all of his degrees in electrical engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Turkey. Over his professional experience of more than 40 years, he worked as an R&D engineer for a power transformer manufacturer; served as a professor at several universities in Turkey and the US; and participated in research projects at Ohio State University in the US and the University of Toronto in Canada. In addition to his regular employment, he often provides consulting services to numerous industrial companies and has served as an expert witness in energy‐related cases. Since 1998 he has been a faculty member of the Department of Physics and Engineering at Frostburg State University in Maryland, USA. His areas of teaching include energy systems, power electronics, control systems, mechatronics, and engineering design. He has published more than 50 papers in major journals and international conference proceedings, and co‐authored a textbook on “Fault Conditions in Electric Energy Systems.”
Hilkat S. Soysal received her Law degree from the University of Istanbul, Turkey. After practicing law for over 15 years as an attorney, she started teaching engineering‐related law courses at the College of Engineering at Istanbul University, Turkey, where she received her MSc degree in Marine Engineering.
