Designing Your Presentation

Here we consider the basic structure of your presentation. We offer some simple ideas and guidelines to get you started regardless of the purpose or content of your talk.

3.1  Does Your Presentation Need a Structure?

Of course it does, and it’s important that the audience senses that it has one. Your listeners are entrusting you with their time, energy, and attention — they need to know that care and forethought lie behind their listening experience. A presentation without discernible structure can be a disaster.
