So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Alembic はデータベースの変更を扱うためのツールで、SQLAlchemy を利用して移行を行う。SQLAlchemy は、メタデータのcreate_all メソッドを使ったときだけ、存在しないテーブルを作成するので、カラムに加えた変更に合わせてデータベースのテーブルを更新することはない。 また、コードから削除したテーブルを削除することもない。 Alembicは、テーブルの追加や削除、カラム名の変更、新しい制約の追加などを行う方法を提供している。AlembicはSQLAlchemyを使って移行を行うので、幅広いバックエンドデータベースで使うことができる。
