Chapter 8
Specify security requirements for applications
Because applications are often the part of an organization’s infrastructure that handles and manages data, it could be argued that they are almost more critical to secure so that sensitive customer or organizational data is kept secure and confidential. As a security architect, you will need to specify security standards for your organization that developers can use when designing and building applications. Also, you’ll need to make sure secure coding practices are used and applications have sufficient security controls to reduce the likelihood of a breach.
