Developments in advanced composite technology offer cost-effective application of polymer matrix composites for large load-bearing structures. However, polymer matrix composites can be severely damaged under thermal conditions caused by fire. This chapter addresses failures of polymer matrix composite panels under combined thermal-mechanical conditions.
