Abstract

Textile composites are the material of choice for manufacturing of wind turbine rotor blades. The basic constituents of textile composites are presented along with the associated influence on fatigue performance. The design philosophy regarding fatigue damage evaluation is illustrated with the offset of wind turbine rotor blades, and the tension fatigue damage is analysed for this particular family of textile composites. Finally, the blade design process is introduced along with future challenges within ...
