4.2. How Opportunities Structure Performance Analysis
In Chapter Three we looked at the kinds of information a performance analyst seeks, condensing the inquiry into two large buckets, directions and drivers. Thus far in Chapter Four we have introduced four kinds of recurring opportunities. Now let's put it all together. The remainder of this chapter provides some templates, shown in Tables 4.2 through 4.5, for handling each situation. In each, I focus on the kickoff meeting, assuming that the initial interaction with the sponsor is where we set the effort on a fruitful course. The templates include sample questions for that kickoff session. Tailor these queries to your particular situation and customer, of course.
