Part III. And Out the Other Side

That’s it now. The hard part is all done. That’s as much functional theory as I’m ever going to introduce in this book. If you want to look into that side of things further, you’re going to need to consider learning category theory and/or a pure functional language like Haskell, or something along those lines.

Your journeyman days are over. You’ve learned all you’ll need to be dangerous. Next is the slower path: more deliberate and ponderous toward becoming a master in your own right.

That path won’t finish with this book. You’ll need to go away and complete it yourself. For now, I can give you some ideas to consider and then take further on your own. Whether a true master even exists in the software development world is arguable, but I find it a nice horizon to aim for, even if I never ultimately reach it.

In the chapter that follows you’ll look at performance considerations and the wider world of functional content around C#.
