So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Eine große Stärke von Git ist, dass ein Repository auf vielen verschiedenen Rechnern verteilt liegen kann. Es ist daher, wie eingangs schon beschrieben, ein verteiltes Versionsverwaltungsprogramm.
In den ersten vier Kapiteln des Buches ging es darum, ein Repository mit einigen Dateien und Commits aufzubauen. All dies geschah vollständig lokal, sodass keine Daten Ihren Rechner verlassen haben.
