Chapter 16. Working with Dynamic Components

You can use the Components Browser to add new objects to the current model, but for most standard components, you only get what is available. Dynamic Components, on the other hand, allow you to change many aspects of the component using preset parameters.

SketchUp 7 includes a number of default Dynamic Components that you can use, and if you own the Pro version you can even create you own custom Dynamic Components.

Using Default Dynamic Components

Within the Components Browser is a category called Dynamic Components Training. This set of Dynamic Components can be selected using the Selection drop-down list. The set of Dynamic Components shown in Figure 16.1 includes shelves, a table, fences, frames, blinds, and grids.
