So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Mithilfe von Nmap & Co. haben wir im letzten Kapitel via Scanning bereits viele Informationen über unsere Zielsysteme bzw. unser Zielnetzwerk ermittelt. Wir wissen, welche Hosts aktiv sind, welche Dienste angeboten werden, und haben auch schon diverse Details zur verwendeten Software und deren Version herausgefunden.
An dieser Stelle gehen wir fließend in den nächsten Schritt über. Wir nennen ihn Enumeration. Wörtlich übersetzt heißt das »Aufzählung«. Eine griffige fachliche Übersetzung ins Deutsche sucht man vergeblich – daher bleiben wir bei Enumeration und bezeichnen damit die tiefer gehende Analyse von Informationen, die wir aus bestimmten Diensten ermitteln können.
