You learned how to build web services in this chapter. First, you were introduced to the REST architecture for the server/client model based on HTTP. Then you learned the basic rules for the RESTful API's design; you modified the myJournal website application from previous chapters and implemented a RESTful API that contains the endpoints for all the routes in myJournal. You essentially turned your website application into a web service. Instead of rendering web pages for the clients, your myJournal application now offers web services to clients via the RESTful API.
