It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Once you’ve captured your images, it’s time to perform magic on the computer. Modern HDR programs shave hours off the time it used to take a photographer to manually blend images in Photoshop, and days off the time it took to achieve similar results in the darkroom. There are many HDR programs, and they all operate a little differently. All, however, can produce both surreal and realistic results.
