Your database is reaching new levels, and other people need to use it. The problem is that some of them won’t be as skilled at SQL as you are. If your job site failed its most recent safety inspection, it’s time to plan the work and work the plan. You need ways to constrain your data to keep others from entering the wrong values. You’ll also need views to make queries easily repeatable or to allow members of your crew to only see part of the data. In this chapter, we enter the hard hat zone and thus begin protecting our data from the mistakes of others. Welcome to your first line of database defense–heads up!
