Abstract

HSMMs have been applied in many areas. In each area, there usually exists a class of HSMMs that are specified for the applications in the area. This chapter introduces major application areas in recent years, including speech synthesis, human activity recognition, network traffic characterization/anomaly detection, and fMRI/EEG/ECG signal analysis.
