9.1 General considerations
Apart from cost considerations, the greatest influence on your decision as to whether to shoot High Definition (HD), and how you decide which of the eight available frame rates to use, will be the type of production you are on. Anything with a likelihood of reaching the cinema screen should be shot at 24P or in Europe, possibly for very-low budget productions, at 25P, as this may prove a little cheaper in camera equipment costs and the hire of the editing suite.
