I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Foreword
Many, many years ago, when I began my career in HR, I’d never met anyone that had worked in HR (or “personnel,” as it was called then). Why’d I pick that job? I wanted to work in a position where I could have the most influence and impact (as any 20-year-old would, right?), and it seemed logical to me that the one job in a company with the sole purpose of dealing with all the people would provide that opportunity. I think we can all agree that I was (admittedly) not well informed, and perhaps slightly naïve. But now, over thirty years later, I can say that my decision was absolutely the right one, and I believe more strongly today than ever before that HR is the best place to make a positive difference in any organization!
