When a client request contains the
OPTIONS method, it requests a list of
options for a particular resource on the server. The client specifies
a URL for the OPTIONS method, or an asterisk (*)
to refer to the entire server. The server then responds with a list
of request methods or other options that are valid for the requested
resource, using the Allow header for an individual
resource, or the Public header for the entire
server. Figure 1.5 shows an example of the
OPTIONS method in action.
