It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Express Authoring Mode
As IT becomes wide spread, business users are becoming more and more IT aware. The new generation of business analysts, managers, executives are not scared of complicated looking applications. They are keen to take the driving seat and try things themselves rather than relying on IT staff for their data and information needs.
That is why IBM now provides Cognos Report Studio with a special mode called 'Express Authoring Mode'. This is a simplified reporting interface designed for non-technical users to quickly create traditional style reports.
You can start Express Authoring Mode in Report Studio by choosing the option from View menu.
This mode works only with Dimensional and Dimensionally Modeled Relational schema/sources. ...
