1 Though there is no agreed definition of ‘public office’, we can describe it as that office which is funded by the public treasury and/or formulates and implements public policy. Public policies are formulated by the legislature/government in public interest or for the public good.

2 Political process, as per the liberal approach, means the process of reconciling various interests and effecting generally acceptable policies. As per the Marxian approach, though, politics is nothing but legitimizing class dominance.
