Introductory Backdrop
Almost all ideological strands of Indian political thought emerged out of India’s historical conflict with colonialism. The different perspectives of nationalist discourse were opposed to colonial discourse. The communist discourse appeared on the scene in the twentieth century which advanced different perspectives against the colonialism. M.N. Roy’s early political affiliation and his relationship with communist and later rejection of communist thinking were studied in the restrictive sense.
