General

This section provides a description of the following trap-related issues:

  • The definition of a trap.

  • How traps are enabled.

  • The basic content of the Notice attribute delivered in a Trap(Notice) MAD.

A detailed description of the types of traps that may be issued by the various MAs within a device are contained within the respective chapter (there are no traps associated with Communications Management or SNMP tunneling):
