As I set out to write this book, my first goal was to determine what had changed between IIS 6 and IIS 7.0 and what new administration options were available. With any product, and especially with IIS 7.0, this meant doing a great deal of research to determine exactly how things work and a lot of digging into the configuration internals. Thankfully I’d already written many books on IIS, Web technologies, and Web publishing, so I had a starting point of reference for my research—but it was by no means a complete one.
