Mathematics lies at the core of quantum computing, and to have a basic understanding, you need to know a little bit about complex numbers. For most people, learning about complex numbers was part of their curriculum in school. As I experienced myself, a lot of information gets lost if you are not using the material you learned in school on a daily basis. This optional appendix will help you refresh the basics on complex numbers.
