So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Introduction to Sage
This appendix provides a very brief introduction to Sage: where to get it, how
to install it, how to use it, and how to program with it.
A.1 Obtaining and installing Sage
Sage’s home on the web is at http://www.sagemath.org, and there are
various mirror servers. Sa ge can be downloaded from any of them. The
installation depends on the operating system. Sage’s base system is Linux,
and many of the tools which make up Sage are Linux-based. This means that
if you use Linux, installing Sage locally is easy, but if you run any other system
it ca n be a little more difficult. In brief:
