2Neuerungen in Java 17 im Überblick
Im September 2021 wurde Java 11 LTS (Long Term Support) nach rund drei Jahren von Java 17 LTS abgelöst. Zwischenzeitlich gab es viele kleinere halbjährliche Releases. Logischerweise darf man von diesen keine Vielzahl an Neuerungen erwarten. Kumulativ hat sich aber seit Java 11 einiges getan. Davon werden Sie die folgenden Kapitel sicherlich überzeugen. In diesem Kapitel möchte ich vorab einen Überblick über die rein mit Java 17 eingeführten Neuerungen in Form sogenannter JEPs (JDK Enhancement Proposals) geben. Die nachfolgenden Kapitel behandeln dann die wesentlichen Erweiterungen von Java 11 bis hin zu Java 17 mehr im Detail.
