3Syntaxneuerungen bis Java 17
Dieses Kapitel beschreibt die wesentlichen Neuerungen aus Java 11 bis 17 als Einheit, weil alles aus den Vorgängern auch in Java 17 enthalten ist. Das Release von Java 17 bietet somit kumulativ diverse interessante Neuerungen:
- Mit Text Blocks, damals unter dem Namen Multi Line Strings als Preview1 vorgestellt, lassen sich mehrzeilige Texte ohne viel Mühe definieren. Insbesondere kann auf das Escaping von Zeilenumbrüchen, Anführungszeichen usw. verzichtet werden.
- Switch Expressions sind eine großartige Erweiterung, die viele der Schwachstellen der alten Syntax adressieren und lesbare, kürzere und präzisere switch-Ausdrücke ermöglichen.
