It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
What Can You Do with DHTML?
Really, the possibilities are almost limitless. Web pages are now closer to being miniapplications than they are static documents. If you surf around the Web for a while, you'll come across all sorts of examples of DHTML put to good (and bad) use. Slide shows, Web sites with custom interfaces, image rollovers and animations, interactive presentations of text on the screen, games, form checking, and calculators are all possible, and much, much more!
In the remaining chapters of this book, you will see JavaScript put into action on some of the most common Web tasks asked of it by users while learning how and why it works.
