So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

This chapter doesn't pretend to be a comprehensive coverage of the Document Object Model; this would be a very thick book indeed just for one browser! The plan has been to give you a flavor of the things you can do with examples for you to follow to get the idea of how they're done. The examples are things you can modify easily and set to work to do something useful on your Web site.
As has been said before, browsers are continually changing, and the best source of information about them is the manufacturers, which have vast online resources cataloging the features of their browsers.
