One of the best ways to learn a new technology is to work through a simple, yet practical example. Toward this end, this chapter develops a typical Web registration application using JavaServer Faces (JSF) technology. A Web registration application provides just enough functionality to show how to use the core JSF technologies, such as User Interface (UI) components, managed beans, the navigation model, and basic data validation and conversion.
