CHAPTER 8Converting and Validating Data

This chapter examines in detail two important topics for all Web applications: data conversion and validation. JSF has software components to handle this aspect of Web application development. Data conversion is handled by converters, while validation is handled by validators. The main point of conversion is to guarantee that the application’s business logic only deals with data that is of the expected Java language type.
