Communicating and Acting on Results

Communicating the results of your analysis to stakeholders is the final stage in our three-stage, six-step framework, and it’s extremely important. Even if you’ve performed the other steps brilliantly, nothing good happens unless this step is done well. Analysts who care whether their work is implemented—whether it changes decisions and influences actions—care a lot about this stage and devote a lot of time and effort to it. Analysts who don’t care about such things—who are, in our view, bad analysts—believe that the results “speak for themselves,” and don’t worry much about this stage.
