To install Kubernetes packages in Ubuntu perform the following steps:

1. Some repositories are URL with HTTPS. The apt-transport-https package must be installed to access the HTTPS endpoint:

$ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install -y apt-transport-https

2. Download the public key for accessing packages on Google Cloud, and add it as follows:

$ curl -s https://packages.cloud.google.com/apt/doc/apt-key.gpg | sudo apt-key add -OK

3. Next, add a new source list for the Kubernetes packages:

$ sudo bash -c 'echo "deb http://apt.kubernetes.io/ kubernetes-xenial main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/kubernetes.list'

3. Finally, it is good to install the Kubernetes packages:

// on Kubernetes master$ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install -y ...
