This book is intended to be a n introductory textbook on lattice algorithms
for adva nce d undergraduate students o r beginning graduate students. It is
designed to be either the principal text for a one- or two-semester course
on lattice basis reduction, or a secondar y reference for course s on computer
algebra, cryptography, and computational algebraic number theory. It could
also be us e d as a source of topics for presentations in a n undergraduate sem-
inar. The book will be useful for graduate students a nd researchers in many
