Autonomy refers to the conditions of self-governing. Similar to Emancipation—the act of enabling others to make decisions without having to rely on you—the Autonomy step in the ACE model involves the willingness of others to take the authority to make decisions so they are able to work independently and fully own certain responsibilities. In other words, it’s about them owning their work.
