Serving as a Role Model

As you begin to experiment with integrating your work life with the rest of your life, you may find opportunities to act as a role model for others. Communicate your actions so that others can identify you as a potential role model for their own development. Let people know what you're doing:

“I'm taking Wednesday morning off to watch my daughter perform in her third-grade play.”

“Come with me and shoot some hoops at lunchtime. I always work better after releasing some physical energy.”

“The time I spend in my garden is what gives me a larger perspective on this organization.”
