So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

An Introduction to Audio: Concepts and Optimization
In this chapter, we will give you the foundational knowledge that you will need to understand how digital audio works, as well as to be able to work competently with digital audio within your Android application.
Digital audio is one of those new media assets that is more difficult to understand and optimize because digital audio is essentially a collection of digitally sampled sound waves, and, on top of that, they are invisible to the naked eye. Thus, we have to rely on our ears rather than our eyes, and most of us are not used to doing production using our ears, unless we are audio engineers, songwriters, musicians or opera singers!
