I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 4. Account Access, Trading Platforms, and Quote Vendors
The commodity markets are volatile and often unforgiving. Thus, it is imperative that traders receive accurate information regarding their trading accounts and ample market access. After all, I believe that the largest component to trading success is psychological, and it is hard to be calm, cool, and collected if you are essentially blind when it comes to market price, account positions, and balances.
With that said, the phrase “ample market access” can have wildly different meanings among various traders. For instance, a professional trader likely needs real-time quotes and charts, point-and-click trading capabilities, and immediate access to current account balances. On the contrary, ...
