So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Single
When you want to run tasks sequentially on a single thread, you can invoke Schedulers.single(). This is backed by a single-threaded implementation appropriate for event looping. It can also be helpful to isolate fragile, non-threadsafe operations to a single thread:
Observable.just("Alpha", "Beta", "Gamma", "Delta", "Epsilon") .subscribeOn(Schedulers.single());
