So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

chattr [optionen] [+ − =]attribute[dateien]
Falls Sie mit anderen Unix-Systemen groß geworden sind, wird es Sie vielleicht überraschen, dass Linux-Dateien neben ihren Zugriffsberechtigungen noch zusätzliche Attribute haben können. Befindet sich eine Datei in einem »ext«-Dateisystem (ext2, ext3 usw.), können Sie diese erweiterten Attribute mit dem Befehl chattr (change attribute) setzen und sie mit lsattr auflisten.
Wie bei chmod können Attribute relativ hinzugefügt (+) oder entfernt (-) oder absolut (=) gesetzt werden. Um z.B. eine Datei komprimiert zu halten und keinen Dump zuzulassen, geben Sie Folgendes ein:
$ chattr +cd meinedatei
